The family drama had everyone on edge Thursday. young sheldon – a particularly tense half hour in which George left Mary after a heated exchange about her relationship with Rob.
Mary’s feelings for the youth pastor had become painfully obvious to her husband, who wasn’t too pleased to discover that the holy man paid a visit to their home after the church had turned away their entire family. Mary insisted that she and Rob were just praying and that were, but anyone who witnessed that awkward moment after Rob finished his sentence could tell you that something is brewing between those two. Just ask Missy!
George had had enough. He headed straight for the back door, and when Mary tried to stop him, saying that she had made dinner, George turned around and suggested that Rob come in and eat it.
Almost as soon as George closed the door behind him, Mary received a call from President Hagemeyer. She didn’t want to intervene in family matters, but Sheldon had asked her for help. She also inferred that he wouldn’t have done it if she Mary had been in control of things at home. It was then that Mary unloaded on her.
“Are you saying that I’m not doing a good job as his mother? Because I’m doing the best I can to keep this family together, and I’m tired of people blaming me,” she cried. “I have this idea of getting in my car and driving until I run out of road, then start my life over with a different name.”
Mary hung up, then Missy, who overheard her parents’ argument. Y Maria’s phone call, went out to comfort mom.
Poor Missy had a rough couple of days too. He had hit a boy in Sunday school after he referred to the Cooper clan as white trash, then skipped high school to escape the endless parade of whispers about older brother Georgie, who made him promise not to hit anyone else. .
