Kourtney Kardashian said that she accidentally broke her engagement ring, calling it “one of the worst things I’ve ever done in my whole life.”
On the fifth episode of “The Kardashians,” which aired Thursday, Kardashian told her mother Kris Jenner that the ring was being fixed after she stepped on it.
“I was sitting on my floor folding sweatshirts and I took the ring off, and I put it next to me on the floor like, thinking it would be safe right next to me,” Kardashian said.
“Get to the punchline,” Jenner said, cutting Kardashian off.
“So then I had to get something up above in my closet, and when I stepped down, I stepped on the ring,” Kardashian said. “I was like, hysterically crying in my closet for like, hours. And then I called Travis and I was like, ‘I did really something, really bad.'”
Kardashian said that Barker took the news with grace, handling it “the best,” but that the incident made her have a “nervous breakdown.”
“This is the most beautiful thing that I have ever had in my life, and how could I have done that?” Kardashian questioned, saying that Barker had designed the ring and picked out its stone with her in mind.
Barker proposed to Kardashian in October 2021 on a beach in Montecito, California, getting down on one knee in the center of an extravagant floral display. The proposal was the focal point of the show’s fourth episode, showing Kardashian and Barker’s families surprising her after the couple was engaged.
After both Kim Kardashian and Barker’s stepdaughter Atiana de la Hoya shared photos of the ring on social media, experts told Insider that they estimated the ring’s value to be approximately $1 million. Since the engagement, Kardashian also shared pictures of her ring on social media.
“I’ve never met a better human in my life, like the thoughtfulness, and just everything,” Kardashian said of her fiancée during the show’s fifth episode.
