Actress Niecy Nash says she is living up to her pledge to make love all around the world with her wife, Jessica Betts.
“Aww man, have we! We have been well into it,” the “Masked Singer” host told Page Six. “We just got back from Bora-Bora. We went to Antigua, Aruba and Mexico. We have been around.”
Nash added that even with her busy work schedule, she makes sure to set quality time aside for her musician wife.
“She has a full schedule too,” Nash said of singer Betts, “but she asked me to make a promise very early on. She said, ‘Promise me that we will always find time to connect,’ and we purposely do that consistently.
“I get asked on dates all the time. Sometimes it is just at the house. Like I wanna take you on a date. Can you meet me at the pool or can you meet me in the movie room?”
The “Selma” star, 52, took the internet by surprise when she wed Betts in August 2020 in Calabasas, Calif. — posting a shot of the two at their ceremony on Instagram and writing “Mrs. Carol Denise Betts,” joking “#PlotTwist.”
Still enjoying her newlywed bliss, Nash feels that she “glows and is being loved differently” compared to her previous marriages.
She was married to the Rev. Don Nash from 1994 to 2007 and then Jay Tucker, an electrical engineer, from 2011 to 2020.
“I feel like I’m the same person, but I feel like I am definitely loved differently,” Nash said. “The difference is that I feel fully seen. And when you feel like you love for the whole self, I think you glow different.”
They have even teamed up on Betts’ new video for the song “We Drip.” Nash served as co-director and also appears in the video.
She explained, “When I refer her to a project, or she refers me to a project, we do it because we both know that our partner has a skill set…..She knew she could trust me as a director.
“We are both on ‘Don’t Forget The Lyrics.’ I am hosting it and executive producing it and Jessica is in the band. So to refer her to a TV project is because I know she can kill it.”
They are also collaborating on a clothing line called “Betts of Both Worlds,” that will include t-shirts, beanies and hoodies.
She adds that the couple is quick to ignore any criticism, revealing “We’ve heard a lot of things actually. We just laugh about it and usually we end up naked.”
