Why ‘The Voice’ Fans Are Demanding Blake Shelton to “Have Respect” on Instagram

Blake Shelton is an Oklahoman through and through. When the country music singer is n’t on tour, he’s taking it slow on his ranch with his wife from him, gwen Stefani. But sometimes his two passions collide, like when he’s filming a music video in the Sooner State. That said, not everyone agrees with all of Blake’s artistic decisions, especially when it comes to one particular fiery scene.

On May 5, The Voice coach went down memory lane and revealed more about how he made the music for his hit single “God’s Country.” The Southern rock anthem was first released in March 2019, and the next month, Blake debuted a nearly four-minute accompanying music video. Though the video has amassed more than 169 million views over the past two years, fans are only just now learning that the Grammy-nominated artist helped start the fire seen in the video and it involved an Oliver 1250 tractor.

“What it’s like to shoot a music video in Oklahoma…” he captioned an Instagram video on May 5, which he also posted on TikTok. The 18-second behind-the-scenes clip showed Blake dousing a farming tractor with gas before it was lit on fire.

Naturally, seeing the Oliver tractor go up in flames shocked a lot of fans. “I can’t believe you torched an oliver!!! Wth?!?! Have a bit of respect for the antiques. CGI would’ve been a better use of money,” one person wrote in the comments section. “What did that tractor ever do to you? #oliverforlife,” another added. “Sir, gas is expensive…,” a different fan said.

Still, others enjoyed seeing Blake part of the creative process. “Thought this was just another day of farm life! 🔥🙌😂,” a follower commented. “Looks like a real farm boy,” someone else quipped.

This isn’t the first time Blake has shared behind-the-scenes footage of a music video. Not too long ago, he posted a clip of himself recording the “Come Back as a Country Boy” music video — and you guessed it, there was fire involved there, too.
