CW Picks Independence ‘&’ The Winchesters As Series – Deadline

The CW has ordered the series from its three pilots – based on DC Comics Gotham Knights, Walker: Independence Y The Winchesters.

All three are based on the underlying IP: supernaturalthe prequel The Winchesters, Walker origin story Walker: Independence Y Gotham Knights. Due to their pedigree, solid execution, and the fact that they’re about half the number of pilots the CW has typically cast over the last decade, they’d all been top contenders from the start.

It is said that this is the strongest attempt to Supernatural split to date. It picks up after the murder of Bruce Wayne, with his rebellious adopted son forging an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. As the city’s most wanted criminals, this gang of renegade misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham City without a Dark Knight to protect it, the city becomes more dangerous than ever. However, hope comes from the most unexpected places, as this disparate team of fugitives will become their next generation of saviors known as the Knights of Gotham.

Produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Fiveash and Stoteraux executive produce alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden. Abrams is also a co-executive producer. while Danny Cannon will direct and produce the pilot.

Starring Matt Barr and Katherine McNamara, Walker prequel, Walker: Independence, written by Seamus Fahey based on a story by him and Anna Fricke, and directed by Larry Teng, is set in the late 19th century. It follows Abby Walker (McNamara), a well-to-do Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes during their journey west. Seeking revenge on her, Abby crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlins (Barr), a lovable rogue in search of purpose. Abby and Hoyt’s journey takes them to Independence, Texas, where they encounter diverse and eclectic residents fleeing their own troubled pasts and pursuing their dreams, all while becoming agents of change in the small town.

Fahey, Teng and Padalecki executive produce with Fricke and Laura Terry through their Pursued By a Bear brand alongside Rideback’s Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore. CBS Studios is the studio behind both Walker Y Walker: Independence.

Supernatural prequel the Winchesters comes from the Supernatural trio of Robbie Thompson, Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles, Warner Bros. Television Studios and CBS. Glen Winter directed and executive produced the pilot.

Written and produced by Thompson, in the WinchestersBefore Sam and Dean, there was John and Mary. Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), the Winchesters is the epic, untold love story of how John (Drake Rodger) met Mary (Meg Donnelly) and how they risked everything to save not just their love, but the entire world.

Jensen and Danneel Ackles are executive producers through their Chaos Machine Productions banner, as part of their overall deal with WBTV. Chaos Machine produces in association with Warner Bros. Television Studios and CBS.

The three series orders, as well as the previous renewal of all American: Homecoming, Join seven previously announced scripted advance renewals for the 2022-23 broadcast season: all american (Season 5), The flash (Season 9), Kung Fu (Season 3), NancyDrew (Season 4), Riverdale (Season 7), superman and lois (Season 3) and Walker (Season 3).
