Hannah Dodd to Play Francesca in Season 3 Recast – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: We will probably see more of Francesca in Bridgerton next season, and it will look a little different. hannah dodd (Anatomy of a Scandal) is set to play the elusive brother Bridgerton in Netflix’s Season 3 and Regency-era period drama series Shondaland based on Julia Quinn’s romance novels. She will be joining the hugely popular show as a series regular in a recast, taking on the role of Ruby Stokes. who left and is the protagonist of another Netflix series, the next lockwood and companyan adaptation of the books by Jonathan Stroud.

Francesca Bridgerton is a mystery within her outgoing and talkative family. Despite her reserved nature, she manages to get along when it comes to society matters, fortified with a dry wit and pragmatism that confuses fickle people but she seems to draw attention when she least wants it.

“I love Francesca, but we lost her in the middle of season 2,” Bridgerton creator and executive producer of seasons 1 and 2, Chris Van Dusen, told TVLine in late March. “After exhausting all other options, he unfortunately had to leave for reasons beyond our control.”

The first rumors that Francesca might be recast came in December when a casting notice was released for the role as a new series regular. Stokes was a recurring guest star on Bridgerton, allowing him to book another show as a series regular.

Francesca Bridgerton, the second youngest daughter of the Bridgerton family, is expected to take center stage in a potential sixth season of Bridgerton based on the sixth book in the Quinn series, “When He Was Wicked”.

The series, which is now casting new roles for season 3, returns to production this summer in London.

Created by Van Dusen, based on Quinn’s novels, Bridgerton is set in the sexy, luxurious and competitive world of Regency London high society. Jess Brownell serves as showrunner and executive producer for Season 3 along with Van Dusen, as well as Shondaland’s Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Tom Verica.

British actress and model Dodd recently appeared in David E. Kelley’s six-part Netflix anthology series. anatomy of a scandal as Young Sophie, the younger version of the series’ protagonist Sienna Miller. She was also recently seen as one of the leads on Lifetime’s Flowers in the attic: the origin. On the feature side, he recently finished filming the Enola Holmes sequel, alongside Millie Bobby Brown.
