Zara Pythian, ‘Doctor Strange’ Actress and Husband Convicted of Child Sex Charges: Reports

“Doctor Strange” actress Zara Pythian and her husband Victor Marke have been convicted of child sex charges, according to multiple reports.

Pythian and Marke were found guilty on Wednesday of having sex with a 13-year-old girl, the BBC reported. The UK’s Nottingham Crown Court convicted the two of all 14 counts of sexual activity.

The couple had been accused of sexually abusing the girl from 2005 to 2008.

“I knew it was wrong, but I just didn’t know how to get out of the situation or say anything,” the victim said in court, according to the BBC.

The actress’s husband, Marke, was also found guilty of four counts of indecent assault on a different woman. The charges stemmed from incidents that occurred between 2002 and 2003.

According to the woman, Marke began sexually abusing her at age 16, the Nottingham Post reported.

“I want to thank the two victims who have shown great courage in coming forward and speaking out about their ordeal,” lead investigator Parminder Dhillon said, according to the Nottingham Post. “While no amount of punishment handed down by a court of law can undo the lifelong damage done to them, I hope they take comfort in knowing that justice has now been served.”

“I hope that this case will serve as a reminder to others: that we treat all allegations of sexual abuse with the utmost seriousness and that, even in cases where the crimes occurred many years ago, we will thoroughly investigate and do whatever is necessary. in our power to bring the perpetrators to justice.”
